This warm-up is designed to help high string players who want to continuously improve their playing technique without having to spend a lot of time on it.

Warm up in 4 steps for rhythms and coordination

Short and on point: with this warm-up you can noticeably and audibly improve your playing technique in just a few minutes a day. The warm-up has 4 steps. Each step adds another component to perfect your coordination on the violin and viola. The steps build on each other. However, each step is also an individual exercise. The steps:

  • basic step: Focus on coordination within the fingers of the left hand
  • step 2: the feet are added
  • step 3: the bow is added
  • step 4: bow and feet are added at the same time

The steps are based on the Left-hand pizzicato (LHP) practice technique and demonstrates how a single exercise (No. 12) can be turned into an effective warm-up. No prior knowledge of LHP is required to do this warm-up! Practice: Just a few minutes a day!
