This is the second volume in the ‘Tuneful’ series for early violin tuition, designed for young players aged between 4–5 and approximately 10–11. Based on songs from 26 countries, all fingering patterns in the 4th and 1st positions are taught across 14 sections. The focus is always on making music: a nuanced playing technique is developed and consolidated in a ‘Fitness Lab’ in each section.
Further volumes and editions, as well as free resources for teachers, you can find on the topic page.
Essentially, it is designed for beginners learning the violin. It is recommended that pupils have already worked through (parts of) Volume 1 of Tuneful from day one. However, depending on their individual circumstances and prior knowledge, they may also start directly with this edition.
This edition contains a total of 109 songs for children. 76 of these are songs from other countries, presented in their original languages.
A few Donkey-Tasks complement the learning content: these allow students to consolidate what they have learnt or get creative themselves.
There is an accompanying booklet for teachers available as a practical, interactive PDF eBook. Its more than 170 pages include translations, adaptations or summaries of the song lyrics, information on the songs’ origins and languages, as well as violin accompaniment parts for two-part songs. A free preview of this guide is also available.
The booklet will be delivered in the quantity ordered. Other items in product photos are accessories and are not included in the scope of delivery.
