The fingerboard attachment

The fingerboard attachment, also known as the Resounding Fingerboard, is an attachment for string players invented and made in Germany.

1.) Basics

A mini-workshop for users who want to be shown the most important basics and try them out for themselves. The individual dates are aimed either at all string players or at specific instruments. At the beginning of the workshop, the handling of the fingerboard attachment will be demonstrated and, if necessary, practised. Special features such as the Bad-Fingerboard-Day will also be discussed and current tips and experiences will be passed on. Exercises for the following topics will then be discussed, depending on the wishes of the participants: vibrato, double grip technique, fluency and finger fall, finger pressure.  Target group: Everyone who already has a fingerboard attachment and wants to improve the handling and wants to learn some initial exercises can take part. Everything will be tried out by everyone and any questions that arise will be discussed directly.

2.) Best Practice

This workshop is based on the Best Practice booklet and addresses and expands on the exercises published in the booklet. There are different workshops for violin, viola and cello players. We recommend that you have already attended the workshop „Basics“ (see above)

3.) Using cleverly in tuition

This workshop focuses on the flexible and selective use of the fingerboard attachment in tuition with students of different playing levels and is aimed exclusively at teachers. It is recommended that you have already attended the workshops „Basics“ and „Best Practice“ (see above).

Organisational details

As the workshop is based directly on the questions of the participants, it is assumed that participants:

  • actively contribute with their questions and experiences,
  • are willing to try out exercises together with others and
  • want to participate with audio and video.

In addition to a suitable device (computer, laptop, tablet or similar) for audio and video participation, the following are required
